Shabnam is Creative Director at Osborne Shiwan in Tāmaki Makaurau, New Zealand.

Born in Lautoka, Fiji, she grew up by the Pacific Ocean, near tropical rainforests and beautiful marine reefs. Being Indian, her family carried with them traditions of a place journeyed from generations ago, no longer home, but forever in their hearts. These connections to people and places continue to influence her work today. Shabnam champions ethics, sustainability and social good, helping shape Osborne Shiwan’s innovation and strategy so that it resonates with positive mindfulness to a global audience. As Creative Director at Alt Group and Saatchi & Saatchi Design Worldwide, Shabnam created memorable work for clients such as New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Fisher & Paykel, Spark NZ, ASB Bank and KPMG. Her work has been recognized in the Red Dot, Clio, Best, Good Design and Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Awards, as well as ADC, AIGA, One Show, TDC and AGDA. Shabnam is a participant in the Womentor program, a global mentorship for women in design. She has also mentored for Third Eye Collective, a professional community for South Asian creatives. Osborne Shiwan curates TDC Auckland, an exhibition of the world’s best typography from the Type Directors Club.
