Creative careers don't always start with a client.

Sometimes they start with a brief we give ourselves: a poster we can’t get out of our head, clothing we want to see in the world, art on objects made just for the fun of it. Things made because we simply wanted to see them exist.

This talk is about making the things we want to see in the world. No brief, no client, just an idea taking shape and being shared. Join Temi as he walks us through how some of his own passion projects turned into some of the best opportunities in his career, simply because he put the work out there, from a simple poster that led to designing for the Oscars to a pillowcase design that grew into a full collection with Walmart. We’ll explore why creating off the clock and giving our ideas room to grow, matters more than we think. It doesn’t have to be perfect. You just have to make it exist.
