“The Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario’s
two-day conference last week was very much a success.
A record 809 attendees packed the theatres at Varsity
Cinemas to hear a number of speakers including Bill
Cahan, Jane Hope of Taxi, Kit Hinrichs of Pentagram,
Sean Adams and Noreen Morioka, and crowd pleaser Brian
Collins.”

“We, the GPD team, decided to step out of the
office and go check out the DesignThinkers convention.
There were many things learnt and lots of inspiration
from seeing some amazing work. For a minute, I fell
in love with design once again; she flirted, I fell
for it.”

“In 2002, I attended the RGD Ontario's DesignThinkers
conference in Toronto and had the opportunity to attend
a session by Hillman Curtis, a NYC based designer. It
was a truly inspiring session for anyone involved in
new media and design in general”

“Inspired to learn more, I enjoyed reading Dan
Boyarski's keynote speech for DesignThinkers 2001. Dan
Boyarski talks about his discovery of teaching motion,
rhythm, and time in a typography class. I wish I could
see the visual presentations that went along with this
talk, and not just a transcript, but I can imagine from
his vivid descriptions.”

“The great site I found is called “DesignThinkers”
which is edited by “The Association of Registered
Graphic Designers of Ontario (RGD Ontario/Canada)”.
since 2000 the RGD organizes a yearly conference each
filled with a roster of design experts in their field
and an audience of 300+ design professionals. well,
in 2001 peter gorb, a life fellow of the design management
institute (DMI) and a pioneer in design management education,
was one of the speakers. fortunately the RGD offers
free transcripts of these speeches. therefore you’ll
also find peter’s on their website.”
